Our Ministries
Music Ministries
God takes great delight in our songs of praise to Him! Music forms a major part of the ministry at HBC. We are blessed with numerous musicians who use their musical talents for the Lord's glory. In our worship services, our congregation sings from the rich hymnody from both the past and present. We have opportunities for children, teens, and adults to participate in various musical groups as well.
Men's Ministries
The men of Heritage are hard working men who desire to use their talents and abilities for the glory of God and for the good of His people. The men seek to cultivate godly, servant-leadership through Bible studies, ministry opportunities, and outreach into our community. Our men are encouraged and challenged to be godly leaders in their homes, in the church, in their workplace, and in the community.
Young At Heart (ages 60+)
A blessing HBC enjoys is having a wide variety of ages in our church. Our Young at Heart crowd are seasoned saints who serve the Lord in a variety of ways. We are building this ministry to include more opportunities for fellowship for them, and we seek to help them continue to cultivate godly relationships with others their own age, as well as with the younger generations.
Missions
It is the purpose of HBC to submit ourselves in obedience to the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ. It is our desire to share the Good News of the Gospel to Dover and its surrounding communities and to see like-minded churches (theologically, doctrinally, and philosophically) planted in New England, the USA, and around the world. We are supporting missionaries who minister on 6 continents.
Children's Ministries
Children are a tremendous blessing from the Lord! Heritage Baptist Church seeks to train our children about the gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage faithful service to Him.
Children of all ages are welcome in our worship service. However, a Bible lesson is provided for children 4 years old-1st grade if the parents so desire. There are Sunday school classes for all age groups.
On Wednesday evenings, we hold a Frontline Kids' Club for ages 4 through 11. Kids spend time learning about Bible truths and serving the Lord. They also have a prayer time, craft time, game time, and a song time.
Ladies' Ministries
The ladies of Heritage take great delight in studying God's Word, praying together, and enjoying sweet friendships. There are six-week Bible studies held in the fall and in the spring and numerous opportunities throughout the year to get together for laughter, encouragement, and Bible study.
Teen Ministries
The HBC youth group is involved in a variety of activities including Bible study classes on Sundays, fun fellowships, service opportunities, summer camp, monthly nursing home ministries, Bible quizzing, and more. We are thankful for the ministry our teens have in our church.
Community Outreach
God's Word teaches us that a saving faith is a serving faith. This serving applies not just to our church family but to our surrounding communities. We have been able to minister through nursing home ministries, hosting Red Cross blood drives, Bible clubs, volunteer work, and one-on-one time with our neighbors. HBC members are constantly looking for new ways to reach out. It is our desire that the greater Dover community see Christ in us and personally desire Christ because of us.
In our efforts to glorify God, Heritage seeks to minister to people in a variety of ways. Our desire is to grow in our understanding of God and His Word and to serve people for the glory of God.
